    Video snipets

Ok, so we where out shooting some video today and we had to shoot this. We found these deer that some guy was raising in a pen in his yard and had to shoot some video with them.

    New Pictures Coming Soon!

I just got a hold of some new pictures for the site.  They are all 1970's and 1980's pictures of my great grandpa, grandpa, and dad hunting.  I'll be adding a lot of the old pictures over the next month as I get them from family members.  I also have about 10 or 15 pictures from second shotgun season last year that I haven't put up yet.  Keep checking the photo galleries for updates.

The Deer Tree almost has a new logo!

About 6 months ago I posted some sample logos that were being designed for the site.  Well now that I've had time to actually sit down and write for the site and update the look a bit I've got an almost finalized version of the logo.  There still needs to be a little work done to the antlers but other than that I think it looks amazing.  Let me know what you think!

Illinois' last gun season of 2008

Well, we are fast aproaching the last gun season in Illinois for 2008.  This Thursday marks the start of the second gun season and the last chance for Illinois deer hunters to harvest a Buck this year with a gun.  After the news of a lower harvest numbers durring the first season it will be interesting to see what the number are for the second season.  It will also be interesting to see how the turnout is for the late season doe only season (January 16th).  Only time will tell what will happen to the overall 2008 number but one thing is clear, the number of deer taken durring shotgun season has been on a slow decline over the past few years.  If this trend continues we will have to see what the Illinois Department of Natural Resources does to buck this trend (pun so intended).
